Welcome to captivemales.com!
We're happy to have you here. Below are the Board Guidelines that apply to ALL of the forums at captivemales.com.
These guidelines are pretty simple, therefore those posts that do not comply with the guidelines will be edited or deleted. Oh, and "I never bothered to read the rules" is not a valid excuse!
Language: Please keep it at a non-offensive level. If you have to wonder about a word, chances are it's probably not appropriate. Remember, the Thesaurus is your friend and it will help you look a little smarter to boot. Do not try to trick the auto-censor with use of alternate symbols such as ! or *. Also, since the moderators cannot moderate what they don't understand, all posts shall be made in English only (since this is an English language forum).
Spamming: The posting of ads for the solicitation of sales is not appropriate, along with spamming the forums with posts of self-promotion. Please don't spam the different forums with repetitive threads on the same subject. You have two options for promoting your own website: your sig, or the Website Promotions thread. This also includes advertising of your site via PM, especially when this advertising is unwanted by the members it has been sent to. PM spam will be dealt with harshly. Sites that are known to spam/harass LF and our members will NOT be allowed to advertise on LF in any way, including sigs or the promotion thread.
Advertising: If you have a legitimate/official charity, want ad, or advertisement directly related to the community, please post it under the appropriate thread. If you do not post to the propper thread, you will be considered a spammer just as anyone else would; the thread will be closed and you will most likely be banned for spamming our forum.
Chit-Chatting: While we encourage users to discuss topics and respond to each other in threads, the forum is a forum, not a chat room. "Chit-chatting" occurs when only a handful of people post one after the other in a manner akin to chatting in a chat room. Chit-chatting is very spammy and is better suited for PMs or instant messaging programs and is not appropriate posting behavior here.
Trolling/Flaming/Bashing/Baiting: We respect the right of everyone to express their opinions without fear of being attacked or personally insulted. Feel free to debate strongly and offer firm opinions. However, if you feel the need to indulge in mean-spirited and personally directed insults, attacks, and quarrels, do so off the forum. Baiting or inflammatory posts or PMs designed to attract or elicit predictable responses are not appropriate and persistence in this activity can result in suspension or banning.
Screen Names: Members should have one screen name. Sometimes obtaining a second screen name is simply accidental due to problems with signing up and sometimes it's a deliberate effort to facilitate trolling. Either way, it wastes space. So from time to time, we will run checks to find the duplicate accounts and delete the duplicates. We will do our best to contact you to let you determine which of your screen names you would prefer to keep. In the event of a claim of siblings/people in the same house, the burden of proof is on the users, not on the Staff. This means YOU must prove what you're claiming, or else the decision will be made by the Mods.
If you're unsatisfied with your screenname and want to change it, send your request via private message to the Administrator; Moderators cannot change usernames. Also, keep in mind that every user is only allowed ONE username change so when you're making the change, make sure that this second name is definitely the one that you want to keep.
Double Posting: Double posting is defined as posting a message in a thread twice (or more) in a row. (This means you have already posted a message and then decide to post another one right after it in the same thread.) Double posting with the sole purpose of bumping a thread is also not allowed.
Intellectual Property
Please respect the intellectual property of your fellow members as you would of your own. Do not copy or cross-post without the original posters' permission.
Be aware that continued failure to adhere to any of the posting policies could result in deletions of posts, suspension of posting privileges, and/or complete banning. It it also a good idea to re-read the rules periodically since they are updated from time to time. Do keep in mind that when you clicked on "I Agree" to the Terms of Service during registration, you agree to abide by our rules and method of moderation. If you are unwilling to follow these rules or find them too difficult to follow, please find another forum that's more suitable to your needs.
To summarize, have fun, stay on topic, but be decent to each other. Just treat others as you would want to be treated. We realize that there will be differing opinions. Netiquette asks that people use simple courtesy, and stop to consider that there may be language difficulties and cultural barriers that require patience, tolerance, and understanding.
Thank You!
